EVANGELISM

“They must repent of their sins and turn to God and do the things that would show that they have repented.”  (Acts 26: 20)

One of the sure ways of identifying a new (or true) Christian is in their willingness to enhance the Kingdom or Evangelize.  Enhance means to grow with the assistance from another.  It infers that each Christian should have a part in growing the body of Christ, not just the Pastor!

Once you are saved, your love for Jesus, and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, will enable you to want to witness for Him.  You will be a different person, transformed from within.  Out of obedience, your goal will be to share your faith with as many people as possible.  Out of love, you will want everyone to know the truth about God’s free gift of salvation.  The blinders will be taken off and you will see, for the first time, just how easy it is to be saved.  God’s plan of salvation will be profound, not nonsense to you.

Your faith gets you into heaven.  Your efforts help others get there!

You don’t need to work to earn your salvation, but you do need to work to help get others saved.  Your works are a by-product of your faith.  Helping others gain their salvation, or evangelizing, will earn you rewards in heaven.

I believe that a sure way to test your faith and a sure way to evangelize to others is to use the acronym, S.U.R.E.  By asking others simple question, you can uncover where they are in their faith:

S, for Sin.  We are all sinner and deserve God’s Holy wrath.

U, for Understand.  Understand that there are both temporal and eternal consequences to sin.

R, for Repent.  Repent of your sins, humble yourself, and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior.

E, for Enhance.   Enhance the Kingdom by using your unique gifts to bring others there.

Help others to BE SURE!

Remember, it’s not mankind, but God who saves.  Mankind is just the messengers.  Our mission is to plant the seeds and let God harvest the crop.  As Christians with a sound foundation, we will want to be a “light” in bringing the Gospel to a lost world.

The most important thing you can do in this life is to insure where you (and others) will be spending the next!
