FAITH
“To have faith is to be sure of the things we hope for, to be certain of the things we cannot see.” (Hebrews 11:1) "No one can please God without faith, for whoever comes to God must have faith that He exists and rewards those who seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6)
Faith is THE key element to the Christian. It’s what establishes our salvation as we are saved by faith alone and not by works.
Webster’s dictionary defines faith as “complete trust or confidence in something.” The entire Bible, from Genesis through Revelation, reveals how God puts people right with Himself through faith.
Everyone has faith. We have faith that when we go to bed at night, our alarm clock will go off. We have faith that each day will follow the next. We have faith that the toaster will not burn our toast. We have faith that our ride to work will show up on time. We have faith that when we phone or text someone, they will respond in kind.
To separate faith from life is impossible as every choice we make comes either from faith in something or someone. That someone to the Christian is Jesus Christ.
“God puts people right through their faith in Jesus Christ.” (Romans 3:22)
I like the acronym that says:
Forsaking
All
I
Trust in
Him
We are born into eternal life through faith; we are declared righteous by God through faith; we are forgiven through faith; we walk each day by faith and overcome the world’s temptations by faith. We learn God’s Word by faith, overcome the Devil by faith, bring others to Christ through faith, and are empowered by the Holy Spirit through faith.
Faith is the only way we are able to walk with the Lord. By faith is the only way to live for the Lord and by faith is the only way to love other’s like ourselves. The most important thing we can ever do as God’s children is to learn how to walk in complete faith in God’s will for us.
